Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) Chairperson, Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo said that she was happy with the support she was getting from the citizens who want to work with her in fighting the scourge of corruption.

The ZACC boss invited everyone to move from the terraces and get into the ring to fight against corruption.

Posting on her newly created official twitter handle, Matanda-Moyo said, “Thank you Zimbabwe for welcoming me to what many have labelled the ‘Champion League.’ I am happy that those who know my record are willing to support me and work with ZACC to exorcise this demon called corruption.

“My calling is to deliver the one thing we all want, a corrupt free Zimbabwe. This will only be achieved if I get the right support from all angles. The appointing authority, incoming commissioners, ZACC staff and management and above all you, the individual.”

She went on to invite people to come together in the fight against corruption.

“This is our country together and we must pursue those who have taken advantage to plunder our national wealth and recover.

“This is not my fight alone. I am not stepping into the ring to cheers and boos for the fight of my life to battle solo. I am inviting all of you to move from the terraces and get into the ring. This battle against corruption is the fight of our lives, together,” she said.

She added, “Our victory as a nation against corruption will define our new path. Zimbabwe will work for everyone. We are putting together efficient tools of collaboration and ZACC will very soon update you on how to effectively get in touch, report corruption and submit evidence.”

Citizens have generally welcomed her as the new boss of the anti-graft body.

MDC-T Vice President Obert Gutu has commended ZACC chairperson Justice Matanda-Moyo for her commitment.

“I'm very happy and indeed, very excited about the new, refreshing thrust of the newly appointed Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) Chairperson. With bated breath, we now expect the new teeth to bite, and to bite with deadly precision,” he said.

Other citizens who preferred anonymity said that Justice Matanda-Moyo is not just committed but interactive and welcoming. They believe that she has come on board with a lot of vigour and that her vigour will definitely root out all corrupt elements and individuals in the system as she means business.
