MDC Alliance informed or rather instructed their demonstrators to be at Africa Unity Square by 8am, but by noon their leader Nelson Chamisa has not arrived yet.
MDC Alliance supporters who gathered at Africa Unity Square since 8am are becoming restless as they wait for Chamisa to arrive. “He is not a Government official to say he was late because of government business. In fact he is jobless. So what could be delaying him? Did he not organise for this demo? We have other things to do,” complained a Kuwadzana youth.
People are becoming restless and others are now so drunk that they cannot even stand or walk by themselves because of this lengthy delay.
“If he is failing to be time conscious at such an event where exactly will he be punctual? What kind of leadership is this? Look here my brother; we have braved the cold rainy weather to be here. What will this mean if he does not reciprocate such goodwill?” said Tichaona Chimhini of Mabvuku.
On the contrary, President Mnangagwa is always on time on both party and government despite being a busy man.
Ironically, MDC Alliance's responsible and mature vice president Elias Mudzuri, had taken to the podium to greet the supporters, but was booed off the stage by supporters. This followed his lone appearance at State House for Parliament business on Monday; an event that has attracted the ire of his erstwhile fellows in the party after his lone appearance was engineered to embarrass him.
