The Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) has revealed during the just ended SMEs International Expo in Harare that they were comfortable with the recently introduced 2 percent tax.
KVC Holdings Limited Group Operations Manager Felix Kari said, “Our business is flourishing despite the introduction of a 2 percent tax. We as business people have to contribute towards the fiscal. People in the business industry had adapted way back to taxation. There is no need of increasing prices on commodities on the pretext that the cost of production has increased. The business community is taking advantage of the prevailing situation. Otherwise there is no need of increasing prices of goods.”
Kari is in the business of manufacturing laundry soap, household detergents, automotive and industrial chemicals. KVC Holdings also train the less privileged to make deluxe paints and cool sips drinks.
“We established KVC Holdings in 2007 and by then we were into selling saloon equipment and solar products. In 2016, we rebranded everything and formed a holding company,” said Kari.
Kari is a holder of an Analytical Chemistry Degree with Durban University of Technology. He feels that with the knowledge and skills he has, he can help Zimbabwe fulfil its vision of attaining a middle income economy by 2030. President Emmerson Mnangagwa is calling all Zimbabweans in the diaspora to come back to Zimbabwe and demonstrate their expertise which they would have gained outside Zimbabwe so that a better Zimbabwe is built.
