FC Platinum has bolstered their squad with another top-tier player as they gear up for a determined pursuit of the league title.

Following the high-profile acquisition of Devine Mhindirira from Highlanders last week—considered the standout transfer of the current window—the former league champions yesterday unveiled Polyester Shoko, a highly-regarded midfielder joining from TelOne.

The addition of Shoko marks the team's second major signing as coach Norman Mapeza strategically strengthens his lineup to maintain their edge in the championship race.

FC Platinum currently leads the standings, sitting five points ahead of their closest rivals, Ngezi Platinum Stars, with 16 matches remaining in the season.

Shoko, who started the season with TelOne after leaving relegated Sheasham, has committed to a two-and-a-half-year contract with Pure Platinum Play.

His football journey includes stints with Shabanie Mine and Midlands State University FC in the Zifa Central Region Soccer League.

FC Platinum, founded in 1995 and based in Zvishavane, has established itself as one of Zimbabwe's premier football clubs.

They have won the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League title multiple times, with their most recent triumphs coming in consecutive seasons from 2017 to 2019.

The club's home ground, Mandava Stadium, is known for its passionate fan base and vibrant match-day atmosphere.

Under the astute guidance of coach Norman Mapeza, who has been at the helm since 2014 (with a brief hiatus), FC Platinum has developed a reputation for their disciplined and strategic play.

Mapeza's leadership has been instrumental in the club's success, fostering a team culture that emphasizes hard work, tactical awareness, and resilience.

The club's recent signings reflect their ambition to not only reclaim the league title but also to make a significant impact in continental competitions.

FC Platinum has regularly represented Zimbabwe in the CAF Champions League, gaining valuable experience and exposure on the international stage.

The management's focus on strengthening the squad with players like Shoko and Mhindirira underscores their commitment to maintaining high standards and achieving long-term success.

As FC Platinum continues to fortify their squad, they aim to remain steadfast against all challenges and sustain their position at the top of the league table.

With 16 matches left in the season, the team is well-positioned to push for the title, and the recent additions are expected to provide the necessary depth and quality to navigate the demanding fixtures ahead.
