The ruling ZANU PF Party has described self-exiled G40 kingpin, Saviour Kasukuwere, as a day dreamer who is desperately seeking for political relevance.
In a statement yesterday, ZANU PF spokesperson Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa said Kasukuwere’s prolonged stay in exile has made him lost touch with local political landscape and his recent hobnobbing with former Chivi legislator Killer Zivhu and Norton legislator, Temba Mliswa was not newsworthy as the duo were vain political pretenders.
“ZANU-PF, the Party and home of the Zimbabwe Revolution has noticed the attempt at grandstanding by an exiled erstwhile G40 figure who goes by the name Saviour Kasukuwere. He is in a self-styled, self-imposed exile in South Africa. He issued a statement in the wake of self-serving encounters with two vain political pretenders.
“Through this encounter, Kasukuwere seeks to smuggle and snuggle back into political relevance onto the on-going and unfolding drama of the glorious Zimbabwe Revolution led by H.E President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the First Secretary of the ruling ZANU-PF. Clearly, three years of exile after his spectacular fall from political grace courtesy of the 2017 Operation Restore Legacy have taken the toll on the mind-set of the exiled G40 Kingpin,” said Cde Mutsvangwa.
Cde Mutsvangwa added that Kasukuwere was completely out of touch with the political realities of the Zimbabwe political scene and was now seeking relevancy through Zivhu and Mliswa, whom he described as ‘two moonlighters and pretenders’.
The Party’s spokesperson said that ZANU PF had done much to endear itself with the electorate and was poised to win the 2023 plebiscite without the support of Kasukuwere, Zivhu, Mliswa and other G40 members.
Cde Mutsvangwa further said the machinations of Kasukuwere, Zivhu and Mliswa were not going to attract the attention of Zimbabweans as the populace was focused on building the nation. He added that Kasukuwere political fortunes were rapidly waning as he was recently ignored at an ANC event in South Africa by former President Thabo Mbeki, a sign that Kasukuwere was now a political nonentity.
Recently, Zivhu revealed that he, together with Mliswa, had met Kasukuwere and they resolved to rally behind ZANU PF and President Mnangagwa in the coming 2023 elections.
