Chamisa calls for prayer and fasting amid CCC internal crisis

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa has reportedly instructed his party members to engage in prayer and fasting amidst the ongoing crisis within that party.

This directive comes at a time when members are seeking political guidance and robust leadership to navigate that party's challenges.

According to a reliable source within the CCC, Chamisa was approached by several senior party officials, urging him to take decisive steps to address the growing turmoil.

"The party is at a critical juncture, and we expected Chamisa to provide concrete leadership. Instead, he insisted that the CCC is under siege from demonic forces and advocated for spiritual intervention," the source disclosed.

Chamisa reportedly labelled the interim Secretary-General, Sengezo Tshabangu, as an 'agent of the devil', orchestrating that party's downfall.

"Tshabangu is being used to destroy the people's movement," Chamisa was quoted as saying during a high-level party meeting.

The source said that Chamisa's refusal to engage with Tshabangu to address the crisis has sparked further discontent within the CCC.

This spiritual approach to the crisis has led to significant dissatisfaction among several CCC heavyweights.

"After the meeting, it was clear to many of us that Chamisa lacks the political acumen, wisdom, and courage required to lead the opposition in Zimbabwe," the source added, expressing a sentiment of disillusionment that is reportedly spreading within the party.

The CCC is currently embroiled in internal factional battles, leading to the recall of numerous legislators and councillors, further deepening the crisis.

Chamisa's call for prayer and fasting, rather than political strategizing, has raised questions about his capability to steer that party through these turbulent times.

This stance, however, has not resonated well with many in the CCC who believe that tangible political strategies are needed to address that party's challenges.

As the CCC grapples with these internal conflicts, the call for prayer and fasting by Chamisa has only added to the complexity of the situation, leaving many to wonder about the future direction of that party under his leadership.

The growing discontent among the CCC ranks could signal a significant shift in the party's dynamics in the near future.
