Overzealous Chamisa jittery about elections

With less than a month before the 30 July historic elections, the MDC Alliance seems to be jittery as it continues to make one unnecessary demand after another all aimed at attracting unnecessary attention after realising that it is bound to lose the plebiscite.

When all parties are ready for elections, Chamisa seems not satisfied. “The unilateral, illegitimate and illegal ongoing printing of sham ballot papers must stop immediately,” said Chamisa in a press conference on Wednesday in the capital.

“There must be an emergency meeting with ZEC to resolve all these urgent issues,” said Chamisa.

As if he doubted that ZEC would agree to hold a meeting with the MDC Alliance, Chamisa also stated that he wanted audience with President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

“(We want) an urgent meeting with President Mnangagwa in his capacity as Head of State and as a candidate,” Chamisa whined.

Despite holding 49 rallies across the country, Chamisa, who was once confident of winning the election, now wants to consult stakeholders again on the brink of an election.

He indicated that he intended to embark “on a nationwide stakeholder consultation on the correct path to resolve the impasse.”

Chamisa has been on the campaign trail since February showing confidence that the electoral ball was in his court, but when President Mnangagwa started campaigning, Chamisa realized that he had lost the race, hence, his childish complaints. Even former ZANU PF politician, Acie Lumumba had no kind words for Chamisa over his baseless complaints. “None of the issues that you raised will be attended to not because they do not matter or they do not want to address them, but simply has no legal basis,” said Lumumba.
