Supreme Court declares Chamisa illegitimate

by Harare Post Reporters

In a land mark ruling, Zimbabwe’s Supreme Court has today ruled that Nelson Chamisa is not the legitimate MDC leader, the Harare Post can report.

The judgment has declared Dr Thokozani Khupe the Acting president of the party. The party structures according to the judgement will have to revert to those set in 2014 congress. An extra congress was directed to be held within three months.

Addressing the media after the judgement, Morgen Komichi who now reverts back to the National Chairman position, has announced that all suspensions and dismissals of all party members after 15 February 2018 are hereby nullified.

Resultantly, Chamisa becomes the Secretary for Policy and Research, Douglas Mwonzora reverts to Secretary General and Alliance members who were absorbed into the party at top ranks now just mere Alliance partners.

Interestingly, daggers have been drawn as Chamisa threatened to deal with those that will follow the judgement.

“Dictatorship never wins. Dictatorship always ultimately falls and so shall it be with all those who connive with it! The people always win and the people shall govern! Bigger after it all. Correctness never comes second best!”
